The Southern Reach Trilogy was exciting and adventurous.
Borne was funny and touching.
Dead Astronauts was difficult and almost boring in its obscurity.
Hummingbird Salamander is like falling through a tunnel filled with very recognizable but completely incomprehensible stuff you bounce off. It’s unpleasant and confusing, but also interesting and not something you often experience.
